Since the Dodgers didn?t have to bat in the ninth, the game doesn?t qualify as a no-hitter.
Lincecum Outduels Duchscherer To Lead Giants Over A's
Tim Lincecum outpitched Justin Duchscherer in a matchup between two likely All-Stars, Randy Winn drove in the only run of the game and the Giants snapped a seven-game losing streak to the A's with a 1-0 victory Saturday night, as reported by the Associated Press.
Lincecum struck out 11 for his third game with 10 or more Ks this year.
Delgado Records Team-Record 9 RBI's
Carlos Delgado broke a Mets' team record on Friday afternoon when he recorded nine RBI's against the Yankees in the Bronx, according to The New York Times.
The Mets took game one of the doubleheader 15-6, before losing 9-0 to the Yankees at Shea Stadium on Friday night.
Delgado hit a grand slam in the sixth inning and clubbed a three-run home run in the eighth that put the game out of reach.
"Here we are, trying to run, do all these things, and we?ve got this kind of power sitting there ready to explode," Manuel said of Delgado, who broke Dave Kingman?s single-game team record of eight runs batted in, set on June 4, 1976. "He just put us on his back today."

With Steve Detwiler providing all the offense Justin Wilson needed, the Fresno State captured their first national championship in a men?s sport with a 6-1 victory over Georgia in the decisive Game 3 of the College World Series finals, as reported by the Associated Press.
Detwiler homered twice and drove in all six runs, and Wilson allowed five hits in eight innings to cap Fresno State?s wild ride to a title.

After spotting Georgia a five-run lead in the third inning, Fresno State struck for 15 runs over the next three innings for a 19-10 victory in Game 2 of the College World Series finals, as reported by the Associated Press.

Sheets Four-Hits Braves In Milwaukee Win
Ben Sheets allowed just four hits against the Braves on Tuesday in Milwaukee's 4-1 win on the road, according to The Associated Press.
Sheets pitched all nine innings, allowing one run on those four hits. He improved his record to 9-1 on the season, as he retired the final sixteen batters of the game.
"He's got the best curveball in baseball," Braves Manager Bobby Cox said. "If you're gonna beat Sheets, your pitcher's got to pitch a heck of a game."
Cubs Home Streak Reaches 14
Ryan Dempster won his ninth straight this season at Wrigley Field, and Eric Patterson and Aramis Ramirez homered in the same inning for the Cubs, who beat the White Sox 7-1 to finish off a three-game sweep Sunday night, as reported by the Associated Press.
The Cubs, with the best record in baseball (48-28), won their 14th straight home game to go 32-8 at Wrigley Field this season.
Teixeira's Three HRs Power Braves
Mark Teixeira hit three home runs on Sunday in Atlanta's 8-3 win over Seattle, according to The Associated Press.
"It was good. I haven't been hitting the ball great this year," he said.
Teixeira finished the game 3-for-4, with four RBI's and three runs thanks to the trio of home runs. He hit long balls from both sides of the plate.
Youkilis Wins One For Boston In 13th
The Red Sox avoided a sweep at the hands of the Cardinals in interleague play on Sunday afternoon thanks to a walk-off home run by Kevin Youkilis in the thirteenth inning, according to The Associated Press.
Boston won 5-3, after trailing early in the game.
"I knew I hit it really well, and I thought it would get out but you never know here sometimes," Youkilis said. "You can't beat it. I think it was even more exciting when you have a 13-inning game. You just want to get out of here. That always makes it a lot better of a home run."
